Hi everyone,
Everyone is posting today about the year’s end and their goals for 2009, so I wanted to add my two cents to the mix- without keeping you long.
2008 has been an amazing year for me here at Write About Everything! I’ve learned so much in my freelance writing business about what to do- and what not to do- to create a thriving home business usingĀ my words and a bit of creativity to earn a living.
I have made an abundance of new friends and partners in the blogosphere and the Twitterverse this past year! There are so many people I would love to thank for everything they have done to either help me, encourage me or network with me. I hesitate to name names because I am certain I will leave so many important folks out- but please know that if you are reading this post, hanging with me on Twitter, hiring me to do some work for you or connecting with me on some fabulous new ventures, your name is on the list!
If I have learned one MAJOR lesson in 2008- it’s this: step out of your comfort zone and connect with people every chance you get! Rarely will you be disappointed. The world is becoming smaller every day thanks to social networking, blogging and the power of the Internet. There are friends EVERYWHERE who are more than happy to share their wisdom, insight and encouragement. Go make some- and, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for being some of mine!
Here’s to 2009- I wish everyone abundance, prosperity and success in the coming year. Connect with me- let’s make something happen! Leave a comment, send a tweet or drop me an email- let’s discover an adventure in business together!
Teresa-
P.S. If you are out celebrating the New Year with some cocktails, have a great time, stay out of jail and please let someone drive for you!

Hi everyone!
What a day! First, I was lucky enough to do a guest blog post for Jack Bastide today. He needed a review of TweetDeck and I gave him my thoughts, which he kindly posted at http://www.tweeterblog.com/twitter-tools/tweetdeck-review/
I’ve heard some nice feedback, so that feels great! If you get an opportunity to guest post on someone’s blog- go for it. It’s fun to write for a new audience- and you might just get some traffic out of the deal!
Edit: I found out this morning that this post on Jack Bastides blog hit Google Page One! That was wonderful news to wake up to!
Since I am in the process of blowing my own horn here (hey- it’s my blog!) I just have to tell you this one: On New Years Eve I am going to be the guest on Teresa Beeman’s Blog Talk Radio Show! http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Teresa-Beeman/2008/12/31/Shoestring-Business-Coach-Radio-Show-
Teresa Beeman is known as the Shoestring Business Coach and she’s all about teaching people how to get a business going on a shoestring budget. I can tell you from first hand experience, Teresa knows what she’s talking about! She’s absolutely delightful- and hails from North Carolina. I’d love it if you’d tune in to Blog Talk Radio on Wednesday, New Year’s Eve at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time. Here’s the link again: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Teresa-Beeman/2008/12/31/Shoestring-Business-Coach-Radio-Show-
We’ll be talking about what it’s like to work from home as a freelance writer- my favorite topic! If you’d like to call in and talk with us the number is (347) 237-4565.
Wednesday- December 31- 9:00 am Eastern. It’s a half hour show, so come join me to welcome in a fabulous brand new year of success, abundance and prosperity as a freelance writer!
Come on- it’ll be fun!
You learn as you go, right?
Today, I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to WP 2.7. I’ve upgraded in the past and have always done so through the admin of the blog. Today I decided to use Fantastico to do an automatic upgrade. Next thing I knew- my blog had disappeared!
First thing I did was run to Twitter and plead for help! Fortunately for me, Michelle Vandepas, known as @DivinePurposeMV (http://twitter.com/DivinePurposeMV) came to my rescue and gave me a few tips! Voila! Blog is restored- and upgraded!
One of the most amazing things about the blog world is how incredibly generous people can be. It never ceases to amaze me how willing people are to step up and lend a hand to other folks who have a problem. I’ve seen it happen from minor things like this to financial help to bloggers who needed to get a new car or even relocate to escape an abusive situation.
Anytime I start to wonder if people have become cynical and self-centered, all I need to do is reach out into the blog world- and the Twitter world- and I am immediately reminded of how incredible people really are!
How about you? Leave a coment and tell me about something amazing someone in the Internet world has done for you- or even toot your own horn a bit, if you like, and tell me about something you’ve done for someone that you know from the virtual world!
Have a great day!!
Teresa
